TOXINS

     We expect the FDA to be protecting us, but evaluate for yourselves their own statistics.  In 1977, it was reported that 258 BILLION pounds of listed toxic chemicals were released on sites:
62% into the air          10.3% into the water
10.4% underground      16.4% into landfills and dumps
      In the past 60 years, approximately 87,000 new chemicals have been synthesized in the U.S. alone. New ones are being invented at the rate of 2000 per year. Besides the toxins in the external environment, our HOMES are the biggest hazardous waste sites around.
Products in our everyday lives, that we use over and over contain substances that are known carcinogens, causing birth defects, and have high potential health risks.  These products, to name just a few, are pesticides, insecticides, plastics, phthalates, deodorant, aspartame, cosmetics, synthetic leathers, perfumes, PCB'S, combustion of gasoline, cigarette smoke, synthetic estrogens, growth hormones found in animal products.....They disrupt hormone levels and activity, also interfering with the endocrine system (thyroid, adrenals, sex organs, pituitary) in a variety of ways.
